Longyear Museum Talk on 400 Beacon Street
By Heather Vogel Frederick of Longyear Museum
Have you ever wondered what it was like to work in Mary Baker Eddy’s household? Heather Vogel Frederick, author of a new book from Longyear Museum Press, will share the inspiring story of the men and women who supported Mary Baker Eddy in her Chestnut Hill home.
Life at 400 Beacon Street: Working in Mary Baker Eddy’s Household introduces some of the individuals who served on Mrs. Eddy’s staff between 1908 and 1910. From all walks of life, they were ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, invited to join one of the most mentally active, high-profile households in the world: The home of the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science.
Author Heather Vogel Frederick will relate some of the surprising discoveries that came to light during the research process, and share insights about those who worked side by side with Mrs. Eddy, as well as about the important work she completed during these three fruitful years at Chestnut Hill.
Lunch will be followed by a screening of Longyear’s latest historical documentary film, “‘Follow and Rejoice’ – Mary Baker Eddy: The Chestnut Hill Years.”
Applications are required and are due by Saturday, February 16, 2019.
