Christian Science nurses complete Fundamentals II course
Five participants recently completed the Fundamentals II course in Tenacre’s School of Christian Science Nursing. The theme for the course was a statement from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy:
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds. (Page 4)
Topics covered included the history of Christian Science nursing, the ethics of Christian Science nursing, Bible study, mobility aids, meeting mental needs, assisting those in bed, and nourishment. Topics were explored in the context of a facility setting as well as in the home.
Here are some of the comments made by the students at the conclusion of the course:
Throughout the course, all the instructors consistently expressed Tenacre’s mission statement.
I appreciated that the instructors were always available for questions, additional practice sessions, and any other help I needed.
It was a wonderful six weeks…
I was deeply impressed by the deep metaphysical basis of the work…
I learned a lot!
